A bunch of Zentangles... White, Renaissance and Black tiles.

I have a bunch of tiles to share... I'll be teaching classes on white tiles, black tiles, renaissance tiles, round tiles... and a few other cool things as well.

Here's some of my work:

And here are some other tiles...

This is the tileI drew while I was doing my "Story Booth" interview.
If you are interested in learning these techniques... please contact me for a class.

Apprentice Tile

This one is done on something called an Apprentice tile - 4.5" x 4.5". We also have a special pen that we use when we teach kids or the elderly - or anyone with a 'harder focus' with the pen. Microns need a very gentle touch, so if someone prefers they can use this pen and it won't break like a Micron will.

So here it is... my first Apprentice Tile.

Copic Pens

I just received my Copic Pens in the post and had to try them out. I like them... but they do 'catch' on the surface of the paper (I was using a standard Zentangle tile). You have to really just allow the ink to flow from the pen and not push the pen in to the page... but it still felt different from my Sakura Microns. I'll keep working them though. *smile*

A few supplies...

I picked up a few supplies at my training and I should be ready to teach within the next few weeks. I have a few things I need to get together first.

But my daughter I spend the afternoon putting my kits together. I'll be teaching one white tiles (beginner classes and advanced classes) and on black tiles (black tiles are an advanced class). Can't wait to get started!

Of course there are a few items in here that are purely for ME!!!

My CZT experience first-hand.

Made before I went to the conference
Ok... so you all know how much I love to share my experiences with you. This course to become a CZT was so amazing... but... I can't share any details with any of you. Why you ask? Because Rick and Maria want to keep it magical and fresh for every single future CZT who comes for training. So no pics are shared via social media at all - not a single Zentangle we've created. What I can tell you is that it is worth every penny and more. I created new friendships, sat in a group of so many positive supportive people and created art with like-minded individuals. We were all equals.

Rick and Maria are so real and down-to-earth. They guided us through the course with so much fun, light-hearted joy literally dripping off of them the entire time. Now I know why you never hear a negative word about this course... because there's simply nothing negative to share.

Just think... a large group (108 students) and staff who are ALL so positive the entire time!!!

What a treat this was. So much so, that I'm enrolling Parz and Az (and myself) in to CZT 22 or 23 next year! I simply have to share this with them. <3

I very very very highly recommend you enrol as well. Even if you don't want to teach (as many of the students there never plan to teach). Learning the essence of this art form from the creators - the how's and why's behind literally EVERY decision they've made (how they create a tangle to legal matters regarding copyright) - they are so open and honest... and they care so much about their CZTs...

I could go on and on but as I said in the beginning... we don't want to spoil the surprise of this experience for anyone else.

Just enrol! Trust me... you won't be disappointed!

Coasters from CZT8

The lovely CZTs from CZT8 created coasters for the Hotel Providence and the hotel had them framed! I took a few pics and wanted to post them here to show how creative CZTs are!

Graduation CZT19

Well I did it. I'm officially a CZT! Certified Zentangle Teacher. I'll be teaching classes in about a month. I need to get some supplies set up etc.

It was the most amazing experience. I made the decision today that we are coming back next year... and I'm bringing my daughter (16) and Parz with me and we are all taking the class together. I can't imagine a better way to say "I love you" to someone than giving them the gift of 4 days with Rick and Maria (creators of Zentangle). Spending that time, experiencing the energy of this class... that's a gift I'd love to give these two very special people! So next year... we'll be back!

Here's to four life-changing days!!!

I did it!!!

CZT19

It is finally here. CZT19 begins today!

I vividly remember mid-December when I discovered this art form and signed up to become an instructor... and it's finally time for it to come to fruition.

Last night we met Rick and Maria. There were doing sound checks in the room where we'll be training and I poked my head in to the room and they came over and chatted for a bit.

I am very excited for this adventure to begin!

Lots of shading

This one took a lot of shading and very patient shading! Nothing rushed about this. I also needed to have a blank page under my hand the whole time so I wouldn't smudge. I wanted very definite THIS IS SHADED and THIS IS NOT for this piece.

I wanted to do a different kind of string for this piece so I used circles instead. I literally sat in meditation and allowed the circles to twist and turn as I drew them.

I'm off in a few days to take my CZT course so I won't be posting much over the next while.

My favourite so far...

This one is definitely my favourite so far. I love this piece. It was fun to create. I was to witness as it unfolded on the page. I had no focus at all... other than to allow the image to express itself. I love how organic and meditative that process is.
