Tangle Island Projects

Here are a couple of more projects that I've completed from Tangle Island.

(Tangle Island is a retreat/conference I attended a few weeks ago on Vancouver Island in BC Canada)

This first one was placed at our breakfast table. We were asked to place our coffee cup on it and then tangle the results! I poured some coffee into a saucer and then used the bottom of my cup to create my string.

This project used Twinks and shells. We traced around the shells lightly with a pencil and the we watercoloured and tangled the rest.

This project was super fun. My first Opus Tile (and official Zentangle® product). We were creating a seascape using some really gorgeous tangles, Tombow markers and a little bit of coloured pencils.

As you can see... it was a very creative weekend!

9-26-15 - A new tangle "Centre Square"

Oh my gosh... today was so much fun! I'm feeling super spoiled... teaching two classes in a row. I am in Zentangle® heaven!

Today Irene came to class which means we need to have all new tangles. She's taken almost every class I've taught... so it always challenges me a little when we are doing new stuff with her.

So... here's what we did.

And I created a new tangle as well. It's pretty easy to do... just follow my step out below.

Such a fun class! 9-25-15

I was recovering from food poisoning this week and today was my first day 'back' as a human. I taught a Basics Class in Aldergrove, BC  and oh my gosh we had fun! I love how "out of the box" they all were.

Everyone there was Scottish - not planned... but it turned out that way. The hostess is an amazing baker and we had the most lovely homemade lemon scones and a pumpkin loaf. We were spoiled!

Here's their gorgeous mosaics:

Tangle Island

Wow, it's been a very busy time.

We went over to the island for Tangle Island - a Zentangle® Retreat and had an absolute blast. I loved the way the weekend went. The days were super long, and I needed to take some time off to relax and rejuvenate - but otherwise it was just so much fun and I learned so much!

Here's a few pics from the weekend:

H2O Twinkly Watercolours - I bought a lot of these!

One of the little surprises on our seats at dinner

Making cards

My name tag - that I tangled and watercoloured along with some cards I made

The beginning of my first EVER collage project

I made it for my daughter Az. She's the light of my life!

And we came home and by noon on Monday I was sick. We are pretty sure I got food poisoning and I was so sick... it was horrid. I'm still not back to 100% but I'm working on it.

I have two classes to teach - one on Friday in Aldergrove and another on Saturday in Burnaby so I need to have my stamina back up!

Parz has been (like always) taking such great care of me. He's such an amazing man...

And now a few of the drawings I've been working on in the car... (yes, I have a sketchbook in the car... doesn't everyone?)

Hope you've all had a wonderful week!

Vancouver Bead and Jewellery Show - Zentangle® Table

Parz behind our table.
Wow... we have been so busy. It's hard to find time to post.

Ok... so we were fortunate enough to do demos all weekend at the Vancouver Bead and Jewellery Show. It was so much fun.

We got to meet some fellow Zentangle® addicts and we were able to create a few more!

Most of the people who came to our table hadn't heard of Zentangle® before - and after doing my demo with them - they were addicted!

Parz and I had a blast!

Here's a mosaic of all our demo pieces together. Click on this link to see the full size image!

Here's my demo piece - that I created on the last day and gifted to Cheryl - one of the coordinators of this event and my contact person. She is truly lovely.

I did have an example that I used all weekend but one of my students really wanted it - so - I gave it to her! I hope it inspires her.

Have a GREAT week everyone! I'm off to tangle in the sand on Vancouver Island.

Oh and check out what I made last week. I absolutely love the grey tile with white and black pens!

Basics Zentangle® Class 9-6-15

A friend came to visit for the weekend and so we did a class so she could learn the Zentangle® Method.

We had a wonderful Basics Zentangle® Class and a great visit!

Busy, busy, busy...

It's been very busy around here. Between losing power for 4 days and playing catch-up on everything since then - well it's been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least!

Here's some of the things I've done since my last blog post:

We got the wrap put on the back window of our new car:

I worked on my Zentangle® water jug (and I've been working on our coffee mugs as well which I'll share with you later):

And here's a Zendala I did:

And a friend and student went on vacation... and she made me this!
